Dance Nation Monique Fawdon Monique Fawdon - Dance
Monique is the founder and principal of Dance Nation  Academy Of Performing Arts. She is an experienced  funk/jazz & contemporary teacher who is highly respected throughout the area.  She has been dancing since the age of three in R.A.D Ballet, Jazz & Contemporary. As a young dancer Monique performed with the Queensland Experimental Ballet and then commenced dance teaching as a student teacher when she was 14. In 1999 Monique started the dance program at Rivermount College which has been a huge success. She is dedicated to her profession as a dance teacher and throughout the last 9 years has gained experience working with children, teenagers & adults. Monique hopes to provide an environment where people of all ages can dance and have some fun, also providing opportunities and training for the serious dancer with a view for a career in dance.
Dance Nation Janece Graham Janece Graham - Dance
Janece was trained in London in all aspects of dance at Arts Educational in London. After having danced with the London Festival Ballet Company, Janece went into musicals dancing in Robert & Elizabeth in the West End Of London. She also was a dancer on the famous TV show, Sunday Night At The London Palladium. After dancing for 2 seasons on the cruise line Chandris, Janece settled in Sydney where she danced on the Barry Crocker Show for Channel 9. After having three daughters Janece opened her own ballet school, Sydney Festival Ballet. Amongst Janece's students are Lucinda Dunn, Nigel Burley & Joshua Consandine, all principals with the Australian Ballet, Kathy Griffiths & Matthew Shilling with Sydney Dance Company & Lisa Miles, Principal with  the Western  Australian Ballet Company. Janece has moved to the Gold Coast in 2006 and we are very fortunate to have such an inspiring and successful teacher on the faculty.
Dance Nation Suzanne Devish-Ali Suzanne Devish-Ali - Dance
Suzanne has been dancing since her toddler years studying at Theatre Arts  Mackay. In 2002 Suzanne completed her C.S.T.D Student Teacher's Tapping Certificate and her R.A.D Advanced Foundation Ballet certificate in 2001. In 2004 Suzanne completed a Diploma in Screen Performance from the Academy of Screen Performance here on the Gold Coast. Suzanne has performed in many stage productions and has been a featured dancer in the televised K1 Explosion for 2004 & 2005.  Suzanne has had a wide range of teaching experience including dance teaching at Rivermount College and other dance schools on the Gold Coast. Suzanne also works in  Entertainment at Dreamworld. Suzanne is energetic & friendly and her classes will focus on style, technique & confidence.
Dance Nation Katie Jones Katie Jones - Dance
Katie commenced dancing at 3 years of age, training in Classical, Tap, Jazz, National and Contemporary. She began student teaching at the age of 14 and later completed her teachers in the Australian Teachers of Dancing Syllabus. In 2000 she opened her own studio, Allure Academy of Dance. Katie has interstate and international experience in the dance industry, including live performances with Bardot, Human Nature, Vanessa Amorosi and more recently the 2006 Robbie Williams tour and in numerous Australian and international music videos. For the past 6 years Katie’s main focus has been Cheerleading and choreographing for the Brisbane Broncos, the Brisbane Bullets and for the State of Origin games. “Dancing has played such a huge part in my life and I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I have met many amazing and inspirational people along my journeys and I hope that I can be a starting point for your children to see the potential in such an adventurous and fulfilling industry.”
Dance Nation Jaci Fawdon Jaci Fawdon - Music, Drama & Dance
Jaci has been dancing in Jazz, Contemporary, Cabaret, Song and Dance, Hip Hop and Ballet since the age of five. Currently Jaci is studying a Bachelor of  Music and Drama and a Bachelor of Education. Jaci has been singing for numerous years as a soloist and in groups. She has completed up to her 7th grade in Trinity College Vocal and Drama Exams. She has carried many lead roles in musicals, theatre and dance productions such as “Footloose”, “The Wiz” and “’Dentity Crisis”. Jaci has won countless awards in dance, singing and drama which include 2004 and 2005 The Parups Cultural Award Greatest contribution to the Arts, Vocalist of the Year, Dancer of the Year 2005, Actor of the Year 2005 and   The Honours Pocket. Jaci has choreographed for numerous shows such as “Faust”, “Lord of the Clowns” and “Midsummer Nights Dream”. Jaci is a foundation teacher of DNAPA and is a wonderful asset to our school.
Dance Nation Tim Linsky

Tim Lynskey - Music
Tim was tinkering with keyboards from the age of five and picked up his first guitar in high school. After graduating from University in 2002 he boarded a plane to Canada, traveling the country working odd jobs and scoring solo gigs in Banff, Ottawa and Thunder Bay. Returning home he played regular shows at the Imperial and Sundowner Hotels in Beenleigh along with appearances at Brisbane's Victory Hotel. He performed at a number of Logan City Council events before being invited to perform live on Beenleigh's 87.6FM Monday night radio program where he recorded his first EP. If you'd like to book in guitar lessons with Tim, have a talk to admin staff and they'll be happy to arrange a timeslot. Even if you don't have an instrument of your own you can choose from any of the studio's Epiphone, Fender or Takamine guitars.

 

Katie Dickens - Dance
Katie is a wonderful asset to Dance Nation. She is jam packed with energy and motivation. She has been dancing since an early age and over the years has developed a passion for dance and fitness. Katie has recently moved up from Sydney where she has been teaching at Dance Kinetic School of Performing Arts, she was taking classes in Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary & Hip Hop. She has worked alongside world renowned Contemporary choreographer Sarah Boulter. She has travelled to the US taking part in performances and workshops with the world's top choreographers. Katie is also very passionate about health and fitness and maintains a high level of results & professionalism. Katie brings her heart and smile to everything she does and her classes are a time to experiment her unique style. She inspires her dancers to dance as if there would be now where else in the world you would rather be.



Scott Woodward - Dance
After 15 years of dancing professionally all over the world, Scott has decided to pursue a teaching career and pass on his skills and passion for dance. Scott‘s professional experience has seen him work on many of the cruise lines including the Royal Caribbean in Florida and P&O Cruises in Sydney, perform professionally with Jupiters Casino, Australia’s Wonderland, Hotel Hyakumungaku in Japan and Lido de Paris in France and this is just to mention a few. His choreography experience is also second to none; he has worked at many dance schools throughout Australia and has choreographed for the Costa Cruise Lines in Italy and Nightclub Dandy in Japan and at many commercial events within Australia. It is such an honor to have such an experienced and versatile performer and teacher at Dance Nation. Scott’s choreography and classes are exceptional and you will find him to be a very energetic & professional teacher.


Dance Nation Daisy Watson Shane Dechavez - Dance
Shane has been dancing for as long as he can remember, progressing from breaking out at wherever & whenever to studying and performing all styles of dance throughout school. He commenced formal training at age 16 and after getting himself into classes he rediscovered his passion for dance. Shane definitely thinks performing is the best part of being a dancer. All the hard work of rehearsals and classes pay off when you are on stage and enjoying 5 minutes of being in the spotlight! A few years down the track and he is teaching his own hip hop & boys funk classes and hopes that he can help others to enjoy it as much as he does!
